Thank you for registering for The Democracy Challenge Workshop.

The Democracy Challenge (TDC) is our orientation course, serving as an introduction to the Public Square Academy. Our goal is to help you become a better citizen by helping you develop personally and becoming economically empowered. We believe all citiens should want all citizens to be fully participaoing in our civic life; any attempts to oppress, marginalize or disenfranchise citizens is anti-democratic.

In this course, you will learn about nine areas (or pillars) where our democracy is at risk. Your work is to identify your areas of interest and decide if you want to take action about any of these areas. This program is your chance to get to know how the Academy works and membership.

Our mission is to Educate, empower, and engage you in your personal, economic, and civic lives.  The TDC course has three units (personal, economic, and civic) with three lessons per unit.  Each lesson is from 500 – 800 words or only a few minutes of reading time. Each has a short, curated video.  The lessons are overviews of each of the pillars, an assessment of where we are in relation to that pillar, and ideas and suggestions for things you might do in the Academy to help improve the Common Good.

We offer the TDC Workshop for free and as part of membership. To register for the free workshop, have access to the curriculum and discussion forums, and participate in the weekly live sessions, set up an account on our website, and you will be added to the course.

All workshop members will receive a message announcing the week’s learning, discussion, and live meeting activities.
